ARIES Transilvania was accepted in Copernicus network


ARIES Transilvania ( was accepted in Copernicus network, created within the European Commission’s program (with the same name). This network aims intermediary communities and the final users through providing safe data with applicability in many domains. ARIES Transilvania will work as a contact point, promoting the benefits of Earth’s observation program.

Copernicus is an European monitoring system of Earth. This means that it collects data from multiple sources (Earth’s observation satellites, sensors, etc.). The members of this community will represent the Copernicus network and will have the possibility to promote the benefits of EU’s program of monitoring the Earth.

Moreover, the members of this network will be the voice, eyes and ears of the European Commission at a local and regional level, to insure the integration of the needs of it’s users and also, increasing it’s use at a local and operational level.

Copernicus Network is an initiative through which the European Commission will closely collaborate with interested parties in order to promote the data and information use and transfer of Copernicus in every involved country.
